The case of the disappearing EZLINK card.

It all started when he went to Siglap CC. No. It started way before that. It started the moment our "hero" agreed to play badminton in Siglap CC. Since then, the wheels of fate has been turning. He arrived at Siglap CC to find the courts empty. Not a soul in sight and even the courts looked naked with only the 2 pole standing where they should to support the net. Fortunately, his good friend Xiao GuGu who is also his former classmate, team-mate and present schoolmate was there.
"We need to borrow the nets from Siglap CC"
Xiao GuGu rummaged through his bag before re-appearing with a sheepless face.
"I left my wallet upstairs at home. but we need an EZLINK card serve as a deposit while we borrow the net"
"No problem!" Xiao GuGu's friend took out his wallet and handed over the EZLINK card.
But Xiao GuGu was a little worried.
"What if we forget to take the EZLINK card?"
"Brother. Don't worry. If I don't have my EZLINK card, I'll never be able to go home. So I'll collect it"
Strong words indeed, for a good 3 hours later he was bidding goodbye to his friend Xiao GuGu as he boarded the bus wallet in hand but with no EZLINK card. The bus left as he put his wallet to the detector expecting the usual "Toot Toot".
Nothing. He put it there again thinking it was some sort of error.
Nothing. He began to panick. He could feel almost every eyes in the bus on him. He began to search his wallet when he remembered. It was still in Siglap. By now, the bus driver was getting impatient and politely reminded him that he hasn't paid his fare. So, he alighted at the next stop which was a good 400 m from Siglap CC.
No harm done as he trotted all the way back to collect his EZLINK card.
"No net, no card" was the words of the receptionist at Siglap's CC office.
Our "hero" left the office and went back to the badminton courts. The net was there..but a game was in progress and it was bad..very bad indeed if he walked him and said
"I'm sorry. Can you continue this game next week for I need the net back now"
Our "hero" then rang up Xiao GuGu who was by now at home. No answer.
He tried again with no avail. Even the 5 calls to his home phone was met with the same fate.
No matter. Our "hero" knew how to get to Xiao GuGu's house and promptly did so. Xiao GuGu was shocked when he saw our "hero". He thought that our "hero" had left for home a good 15 minutes ago. Upon hearing that our "hero" forgot to take his EZLINK card, Xiao GuGu, ever the more vigilant hero than our "hero" agreed to accompany our "hero" retrieve his EZLINK card. But when Xiao GuGu arrived at the scene, the EZLINK card was gone. A singular person who knew our "hero's" sister intended to return our "hero's" EZLINK card to her. But our "hero" couldn't let it happen. He needed to go home with that card! And thus, Xiao GuGu and our "hero" embarked on a search and rescue mission. The only clue they had as to the whereabouts of this singular person was that she was in some bustop outside the Bedok Stadium. The pair after an exhaustive walk found this singular person at the bus stop and handed the EZLINK card over to our "hero". BUT this tale didn't stop here. Xiao GuGu told our "hero" to put the EZLINK card in his wallet. BUT our "hero" was too damn "act smart/gek seh" to listen. Noooo. He was too lazy to open his bag and retrive his wallet. So he insisted on carrying it with him.
Upon reaching the bustop where our "hero" could finally go home, our "hero" thought he had put his EZLINK card into his wallet. Our "hero" even changed his t-shirt in the secluded bus-stop because it was all wet from all the marvelous walking. The bus arrived. Our "hero" stepped up the bus and put his wallet to the detector. Again NOTHING. Our "hero" was frantic. He explained the the driver that he couldn't find his EZLINK card and the kind driver allowed our "hero" to get aboard. But what of the EZLINK card? It remains a mystery till today. Our "hero" searched his entire bag for it, his entire plastic bag of dirty clothes, and even his wallet. But nothing. A sweep of the area but the ever vigilant Xiao GuGu revealed no EZLINK card. Is it really the end of a tragic tale of the EZLINK card? It appears so. And thats how the story will end. With our "ZERO" feeling very very frustrated and extremely at a loss as to what to do. THE END
