If you are reading this, my guess is that:
1. your a friend who knows my blog...(somehow) or
2. your a disgrunted student who actually googled "what's wrong with SMU"
So whats wrong with SMU? Well to put it bluntly, answering this directly is wrong because the concept of right and wrong is extremely subjectly. Hence, allow me to tell you what I feel is right. And obviously anything that isn't right....must be left! (get it?)
Whats right:
A school that promised me small class sizes of 20 students, a vibrant school life and the fact that 100% of its students get to go on exchange.
Whats left:
Bidding for classes (maximum size 50) is getting increasing challenging. Either they limited allocation for locals or demand far outstrips supply. Either way, doesn't that imply that classes are naturally larger than 40 (twice the promised figure).
I'm back in school on the SECOND Sunday of the school term and to be great ASTONISHMENT, the group study rooms are 100% occupied. Wait a minute. Why am I even back in school on a SUNDAY? But of course, mt vibrant school life.
For the 1st time last year, SMU couldn't find placing for 100+ of its students applying for overseas exchange. The blame was ultmately placed on those who rejected their given exchange places. But surely a 66% successful applicantion rate begs the question of "whats going on?"
